Information and Communication for Development (ICT4D) is an emerging term that has been increasingly used to refer to the important roles and opportunities that Information and Communication Technologies plays in development both in the political, cultural and socio-economic contexts. The roles that ICTs plays in promoting development issues such as Agriculture, Health, Entrepreneurship, Governance, Education and enhancing social service deliveries prompted WOUGNET to establish an ICT4D Youth network in Uganda.

 The purpose of these groups are many but ideally the development of the network was premised on the fact that the young generation of today are capable of using Information and Communication Technologies strategically and inovatively for their own economic development . But the network of such youth would also serve as change agents within their home communities responsible for information gathering, repackaging and dissemination or sharing to the different WOUGNET e-platforms.

 Some of the platforms currently used include:

• The ICT4D Youth Network Facebook page
• A Discussion group (*dgroups)/ Mailing lists
• Use of mobile phones for youth engagement & interaction

• Twitter pages and social media sites to engage young people.
